Over the past 15 months, both employers and career-seekers have been forced to grapple with industry changes and instability. But in order to have a resilient workforce during the economic recovery, policy-makers and workforce development experts must work together to provide access to reskilling, training and education. The National Governors Association is leading a collaborative with several states, including Alabama and Hawaii, to “better connect employment seekers to work, education and other resources” (US News).
The Workforce Connection (TWC), the region’s dedicated workforce development resource, is proud to announce their advancement as the lead applicant into the next phase of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Racial Equity 2030 grant, after their review of over 7,000 applications.
TWC is thrilled at the prospect of workforce growth at AAR and the workforce system we provide will continue to work tirelessly to connect individuals with the necessary training/education for regional workforce needs.
Sandrine is enrolled in The Workforce Connection Adult program and needed a refresher on her interview skills. Her Career Planner, Alex, recommended that she attend #Ready, a one-day, four hour employment readiness workshop offered by The Workforce Connection. The program provides a refresher on soft skills, how to talk to an employer, and essential customer service skills.
We at DFA reached out to The Workforce Connection team so that we could offer our employees training that they would not have had the opportunity without assistance.
Tiara is a living example of how employers and individuals can support each other, and The Workforce Connection is here to assist them both.
