Request for Bids Purpose
The Workforce Connection, Inc. (TWC), the workforce board serving Boone, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties, is soliciting bids from individuals and organizations, to serve as the Apprenticeship Navigator for Economic Development Region (EDR) 5 in Illinois. This contract will begin July 1, 2020 and run through June 30, 2021.
Background Information
TWC received an Apprenticeship Navigator grant from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). Through this grant, TWC serves all of Economic Development Region (EDR), which includes Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties in Northern Illinois.
The goal of the project is to engage, educate and train employers who currently do not operate or work with apprenticeship program models. By serving as a navigator for EDR 5, TWC looks forward to assisting the State of Illinois with the stated goals of enrolling 800 new registered apprentices in Illinois by 2022, increasing the diversity of apprentices and growing apprenticeship programs across industry sectors that are aligned with regional needs.
