Deon came to The Workforce Connection to get into an apprenticeship and a trade that challenged him. Deon had previously managed gas stations and done some construction, but he was looking for something different.
He got connected with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 23 and stated that he doesn’t just like his apprenticeship, he loves it. He loves the variety of the work – and how so much is behind the scenes and helping every day people live better and easier lives. From working in the schools to providing heat to working, they are helping us all..
Deon is in his first year of his five year apprenticeship with Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 23. Deon stated “It is challenging, but it is life changing. We grow from challenges and you are going to make mistakes, but you will grow.” We are so proud of you Deon!
