Absolute Fire Protection, Inc. of Rockford, Illinois shares insight on their Apprenticeship Program and The Workforce Connection.

“Recently, we added Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices to our Absolute Fire Protection team.  We reached out to The Workforce Connection to assist us by enrolling our candidates into their on-the-job training program.

The Workforce Connection spent time understanding our apprenticeship program before assisting us with the selection process, which was valuable because they ensured we had the appropriate individuals for
the position.  With the reimbursements to our company that the on-the-job training program offers, we were able to add additional apprentices, which allowed us to welcome 5 new apprentices!  As an Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter, apprentices will cover 19 classes over four years in addition to training in the field.  At the conclusion of the apprenticeship, they will earn their Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters card.

We are proud to say that all of our apprentices successfully completed the first part of the program through the on-the-job training program, and are on their way to becoming Journeymen who will earn nationally recognized credentials and earn upwards of $50 per hour.

We are grateful for the partnership with The Workforce Connection, which allowed us to include these high paying positions within the company and our community.  Congratulations to our apprentices!  We are grateful to The Workforce Connection for the support they provided us and our apprentices throughout theirprogram. “

The Workforce Connection has provided $82,380 in training costs to Absolute Fire Protection for 5 apprentices.”
