Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Local Workforce Area #3 and our workforce development system have made changes in response to the development of COVID-19.  We continue to follow the latest guidance from Governor Pritzker, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Illinois Department of Public Health, Winnebago County Health Department, Stephenson County Health Department Boone County Health Department.

The American Job Center in Rockford is closed to the public until further notice and the same applies to access sites in Freeport and Belvidere.

Although sites are not open to the public, employees from our One-Stop Operator Partners, Goodwill and Rock Valley College, as well as board staff are temporarily working remotely until further notice.  IDES staff remain on-site at this time but are not open to the public. Career planners are still available by phone and email as a service to individuals, as well as the business service team members for employers who are looking for additional resources and assistance.

The Workforce Connection’s hiring events and workshops have been postponed until further notice.  TWC’s website and social media outlets will provide updates, resources, and interesting ideas about what  can be done online for career seekers and employers.

We will continue to provide updates as they arise on this page, as well as additional resources. If you have immediate concerns or questions, please contact us at info@theworkforceconnection.org or by calling (815) 847-7574 to leave a voicemail and we will be back in contact in a timely manner.
