Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Community Liaison will be responsible for: driving our community-involved strategies and interventions. The Community Liaison will be responsible for building and fostering relationships with Community Members, Community Stakeholders, and Local Leaders. The Community Liaison must be comfortable developing relationships within the Community they reside in. This position requires an individual that is able to be adaptable and strategic when faced with challenges and complex situations. The Community Liaison must be comfortable working in diverse environments and maintain a non-bias attitude. It is very imperative that the Community Liaison is a “thought leader”.
Build and Foster relationships with Community Members, Community Stakeholders, Local Leaders, and Small Businesses.
Strategically support development and implementation of community initiatives and interventions.
Provides direct outreach to a wide range of community members and/ or community associations, service groups, professional organizations, and government entities.
Assess and respond strategically to complex tasks.
Plan and Coordinate events/ activities within Community.
Research community needs and work with Community Members and Community Stakeholders to develop a response to address needs of the Community.
Develop and Facilitate Community Workgroups.
Attend Community Meetings and Events.
Develop and maintain Community Partnerships.
Be able to articulate the needs of the Community. Documenting Community Exchanges. Maintaining a Community database.
Reporting: completing Community Needs Assessment.
Be visible and non-bias in community involvement.
Learning Asset-Based Community Development Model and continuously using approach in daily community outreach and interactions.
Be able to develop and implement Community Programs.
Learn and maintain a deep understanding of Social Determinants of Life.
Attend scheduled trainings and meetings.
Time Management: maintain updated schedule/ calendar. Meeting deadlines and submit task on-time.
Ability to travel at least 50% within local area and some overnight travel required (fly) for quarterly meetings.
Must live within the Community of service. (Rockford (61104 or surrounding area)
Associates Degree w/ 3 years’ experience in a Community Development role or 5 years’ experience as Community Health Worker or Community Development Professional w/ High School Diploma or GED.
3 to 5 years experience.
Experience with Community Outreach.
Experience engaging with Community Based Organizations.
Experience working with individuals in diverse populations.
Experience with Community Engagement.
Experience Facilitating Workgroups.
Proficient capturing and articulating information.
