Under the direction of the Production Team Leader, the Process Operator is responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively operating process equipment, while controlling the total finished product produced. The Process Operator is a key component of our overall business success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements.

2. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times.

3. Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude.

4. Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times.

5. Report safety concerns and defective equipment to immediate supervisor or Team Leader.

6. Maintain process equipment and finished product per lab specifications.

7. Report any deviations associated with the above parameters to appropriate Team Leader and Quality Team personnel.

8. Monitor finished product to achieve the highest-quality product possible.

9. Monitor and dispose of scrap.

10. Report excess amounts of scrap loss to immediate supervisor or Team Leader.

11. Monitor cook charts and keep Team Leader informed.

12. Add proper amounts of oil to the fryer.

13. Communicate effectively with all department and plant personnel.

14. Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate.

15. Work in other areas as workload demands.

16. Perform daily and weekly cleanup and sanitation, including the proper handling of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and one to three months related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.

Language Skills

· Ability to read and write English.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job:

· The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen.

· The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine.

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing this job the employee is occasionally (or regularly) exposed to the following environmental factors: cold, extreme heat and humidity. Exposure to hydrated lime frequently while cooking corn, caustic soda and Muriatic acid while conducting end of week sanitation.
