ASM Global, the leader in events and venue management for public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sr. Accountant in Rockford, Illinois. The Sr. Accountant reports to the General Manager and will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties including account reconciliations and analysis, preparation of journal entries and related monthly close documents, financial records maintenance, and monthly financial reporting. The position requires solid knowledge of accounting principles and experience. This individual may be asked to perform ad-hock analysis, create spreadsheet and report for management as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reconcile and analyze GL accounts including bank accounts, accounts receivable, prepaids, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue accounts and other accounts as required
Analyze, process, and reconcile cash-related transactions to monthly bank reconciliations and financial reports
Prepare, review and post journal entries; determine appropriate accruals to be made monthly
Monitor and approve fixed asset activity in detail and input into accounting module for automatic depreciation generation
Prepare audit and related roll forward schedules
Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures
Booking and reconciliation of event settlements
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
Assist in the review of monthly financial results (variance analysis) and internal reporting requirements
Support various functions in finance
Perform other accounting or general office duties as requested

Education and/or Experience
· B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
2-4 years’ experience in public accounting and/or financial management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Background in the entertainment industry including show settlements, box office and ticket sale management preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and manage unique and complex accounting situations.
Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting, experience in budget preparation.
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
Work with/maintain highly confidential information.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; Sage experience is preferred. ADP Software and ADP Etime experience preferred.
