Salary range: $24 – $34/hr

 

Job description

This role sets-up, operates and programs CNC mills (vertical / horizontal / boring) to machine bar stock, fabrications, and castings to meet drawing and routing requirements, working with internal team members to establish and achieve process specifications supportive of the entire component part manufacturing process. This is a mixed-model low-volume machining environment.

 

Essential functions

· Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining to be done

· Interprets GD&T requirements

· Sets-up and operates to perform precision machining to achieve conforming output

· Selects and installs tooling, work holding, appropriate for the application

· Programs proper speeds and feed rates for correct machine performance

· Inspects first run piece, spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications using micrometers, dial bore gages, etc.

· Computes data, makes machine settings and applies knowledge of shop mathematics

· Performs preventive maintenance tasks on equipment operated

Supervisory responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work environment: The work environment is an industrial setting. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands: This role requires standing for periods of up to 4 hours without breaks and or moving around on the machine and lifting of parts weighing 50 pounds or more up to shoulder height.

Position type and schedule: This is a full-time position, 32-hours minimum, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Travel: None required

Required education and experience: High school diploma or GED, and 3 to 5 years of machine tool experience

Preferred education and experience: 7+ years of CNC Machine tool related experience with G-code, conversational, & CAM software programming
