Essential Functions:

  • Setup and operate manual machines
    • Turning, milling, grinding, broaching, and/or gear cutting
  • Program CNC machines by hand and/or with CAD/CAM
    • Turning, milling, grinding, and/or gear cutting
  • Perform precision machining to achieve conforming output
  • Produce low volume component parts
  • Record test results & report nonconforming materials

Job Duties:

  • Work within the requirements for safety, using specified PPE
  • Execute shop schedules and work to plan
  • Use mechanic tools, gages, and fixtures
  • Read part drawings and interpret GD&T
  • Select and installs tooling & work holding appropriate for the process
  • Determine feeds & speeds for correct machine performance to specifications
  • Leave appropriate stock for subsequent operations
  • Measure product with inspection equipment
  • Document test results on standard inspection plans
  • Identify and record nonconformities and opportunities for improvement
  • Complete work order operations in a manner that best serves the production plan
  • Report labor into the ERP to track output in real time
  • Perform to set objectives
  • Satisfy ISO9001 quality system standards
  • Provide cross-functional team support
  • Support the standardization of best practices
  • Cross-train in other manufacturing areas when opportunities are presented
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks on equipment operated

Supervisory responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work environment: The work environment is an industrial setting.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands: This role requires standing for periods of up to 4 hours without breaks and or moving around on the machine and lifting of parts weighing 50 pounds or more up to shoulder height.

Position type and schedule: This is a full-time position, 32-hours minimum, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Required education and experience: High school diploma or GED, and 3 to 5 years of machine tool experience

Preferred education and experience: 7+ years of CNC Machine tool related experience with G-code, conversational, & CAM software programming
