JOB DESCRIPTION
A manufacturing engineer effectively interprets component and assembly drawing requirements, including GD&T, on precision-machined components and complex assemblies to establish the manufacturing process methods necessary for producing quality output profitably. The job will include the development of master routings within the ERP software, the creation of standard work and manufacturing specifications, the development of tooling and work holding using CAD/CAM software. Normal daily duties will include teamwork with cross-functional teams, primarily consisting of product engineering, quality, planning, and machinists to establish effective manufacturing methods.
Essential Functions:

· Interpret drawing specifications, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
· Develop manufacturing process specifications, including master routings standard (estimated) cost
· Generate work holding designs & specify tooling
· Standardize methods templates for core competencies
· Facilitate teamwork to identify and mitigate risks of manufacturing output failures
· Program and tool up machine tools to generate capable results
· Standardize manufacturing operations through the quantification and achievement of new methods
· Support the justification of Capital Equipment Expenditures
· Support MRB with the evaluation and disposition of failed product output
· Provide constructive feedback to design engineering to advance product design and development
· Lead corrective actions
· Assist manufacturing personnel with their mentoring needs
· Support the procurement staff with the qualification of the supply chain

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: Shop and office conditions, working on machine tools to prove new method.
Physical Demands: Able to stand for 4-8 hours and lift at least 20 lbs. without assistance.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position.
Travel: Seldom
Required Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED, 5 years relevant working experience, and extensive CNC experience are required.
Preferred Education and Experience: A manufacturing professional possessing a bachelor’s degree or SME certification with 7 years of manufacturing experience working with complex geometry, including gear components, is preferred. SixSigma Green/Black Belt certification is also desirable.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Dimensional metrology experience and ERP experience are both beneficial to succeeding in this role.
