Process Engineer Job Description

 

CQ + Manufacturing Group, LLC is seeking an energetic and driven engineer who shares our values, is willing to roll up their sleeves, and help drive our team forward on our journey of continuous improvement in Machesney Park, IL. This position will offer the opportunity to create and improve systems, lead kaizen initiatives and foster CQ’s collaborative culture.

 

What you bring to the table:

 

·         A systems improvement mindset with background in lean manufacturing preferred.

·         Experience in metals machining, with knowledge of Acme screw machines being highly desirable.

·         4-year degree in process, industrial, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent industry experience including management experience is highly preferred.

·         High level of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a must.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Minimum experience of 5 years in a manufacturing environment is required.

·         CAD knowledge is preferred.

·         Experience in project management is preferred.

·         Familiarity with ERP systems and willingness to leverage them to help the business make optimal decisions.

 

What your day looks like at CQ+

 

·         Report on daily and monthly metrics reflecting on the operational health of the business.

·         Lead and participate on problem solving teams to drive metric improvement.

·         Diagnose and resolve shop floor issues ensuring lessons learned are preserved.

·         Lead projects and implement systems to build a more robust and sustainable manufacturing system.

·         Work with engineering peers to ensure shop floor documentation is accurate, clear, and reflects best practices.

·         Improve efficiencies on floor through set up reduction, work cell arrangement, and downtime resolution through collaboration with operators, supervisors, and peers on engineering team.

·         Maintenance of standards in CQ+ ERP system.

·         Identifying and sourcing tooling for new part builds for optimal efficiency and reliability in cooperation with your peers on the engineering team.

·         Report to plant president on progress toward goals and barriers.

·         A team that treats each other like family.  A bit of fun, and a lot of hard work every day.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand on your feet for and walk shop floor multiple times throughout course of the day
Must be able to lift a max of 50 lbs on occasion.

Wear provided Safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Salary for this position is between is between $65,000/yr – $90,000/yr based on experience and qualifications.
