This position serves as a pump technician. Responsibilities include various activities associated with pump service.
• Work on manufacturing orders as assigned by the Operations Manager or Operations Lead.
• Provides overhaul and testing of centrifugal pumps or other products including cleaning, disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and testing.
• Operate equipment as required during overhaul, including parts washing machine, bead blasting machine, lathe, jib crane, for truck, and test stand.
• Create pump inspection and test reports.
• Follow established procedures for testing and assembly.
• Communicate issues and continuous improvement ideas with leadership.
• Follow management directives and requests.
• Attend workshops and training as required.
• Provides back-up for production assembly and inspection.
• Some travel may be required (<25%), domestic and international.
• Performs other duties and activities as assigned.

• Technology degree or related experience in a manufacturing firm, or machine repair center
• Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing firm, or machine repair center.
• Prior experience with motors is preferred.
• Prior experience in pump repair/overhaul would be helpful, but not required.
• Ability to operate a fork truck.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, schematics, drawings, codes, standards, and governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, other employees, clients, customers, vendors, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical functions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office software, Adobe software, CAD software, and company business system software.

Required to work safely in an environment that may contain products contaminated with human sewage.
Traveling to shipyards may be required. Climbing up and down stairs within ships and movement around equipment and machinery in a safe manner. Working in hot or cold temperature conditions within ships (40-110°F). Standing for long periods of time. Working in limited space areas around equipment in a safe manner.
