Position Summary: Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to the outpatient oncology departments. Organizes and facilitates departmental activities to deliver quality care following regulatory/evidence-based standards of care. Priorities include quality and service excellence, which focuses on patient, staff , and provider satisfaction. Directs and supervises staff ensuring that the PRIDE standards are demonstrated in the delivery of patient care. Serves as a link to all disciplines for patient care to assure desired outcomes. Mediates and problem solves concerns related to provider, staff and /or administrative policy. Works collaboratively with FHN team to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Incorporates leadership standards into daily practice. - Responsible for the coordination of department needs, addressing provider/staff/patient and family issues to maintain daily operations and communication among healthcare team.
- Ensures development and compliance of policies, procedures, patient care standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Counsels, monitors and documents staff performance patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Supports key nursing initiatives: Councils, performance improvements and clinical guidelines.
- Displays competency for the Oncology Director’s role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN Workforce Standards.
- Evaluates the staffing needs of the units and addresses components of hiring and evaluation processes.
- Directly supervises employees in assigned departments. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work, appraising performance, recognition of staff and counseling staff when appropriate. Problem resolution for quality and service issues.
- Responsible for capital, operational and FTE budget.
- Supports and interacts with University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer for activities related to affiliation and research.
- Coordinates the activities for ordering and stocking chemotherapy and mediations and other supplies.
- Reviews billing and coding responsibilities for compliance of rules and regulations.
Supports and participates in activities to achieve network strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four year accredited college or university. Master’s Degree preferred
3-5 years related experience including managing staff and operations
