SUMMARY: Provides leadership and direction to staff while adhering to FHN policies, procedures and guidelines. Works collaboratively with director, providers, team leaders, staff, patients and families. Incorporate the Leadership Evaluation Manger (LEM) with alignment to FHN’s identified objectives.
Focus communications on patient/customer care, business operations, and/or topics which will create a positive work environment.
Manages daily operations and ensures follow through at assigned provider locations.
Responsible for staffing and scheduling staff. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel, considering scope of practice, competencies, patient/client needs and complexity of care. Plans and assesses staffing needs to accommodate patient volumes and provider’s schedules while utilizing wise stewardship of resources (i.e., staff scheduling).
Provides direction, guidance and supervision of personnel while supporting a culture of high performing staff.
Visits departments/sites to effectively monitor operations, provide ongoing communication and ensuring follow through.
Assists with developing policies/procedures as needed. Provides direction, and assures compliance with organizational policies/procedures among FHN providers and staff.
Monitors compliance and responsible for quality improvement initiatives.
Assists with implementation and oversight of new initiatives.
Completes performance appraisals and onboarding process on or before the due date.
Establishes rapport with individual providers and staff to achieve an open and effective channel of communication.
Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care provided. Recommends changes that improve quality of care, work efficiency, financial performance or patient/staff satisfaction.
Communicates, implements and monitors departmental and organizational goals/objectives evident by measurable objectives.
Conducts interviews and determines the hiring of staff, consulting director as needed.
Monitors reports related to coding, billing, departmental finances and physician productivity as applicable.
Oversees the ordering, receipt and approval of supplies, while monitoring expenditures and conserving resources in an effort not to exceed dollar amount determined by director.
Oversees orientation of new staff.
Monitors and communicates patient satisfaction results. While overseeing the implementation of determined action plans and follow up results.
Responsible for the coordination of department meetings.
Manages department/building/grounds concerns daily; apprises director and appropriate staff.
Address patient, provider and staff concerns/grievances, while considering process improvement initiatives. Consults with director as needed.
Actively participates on teams and committees throughout FHN as appropriate.
Participates in activities to support FHN’s mission, goals, and strategic plan.
Demonstrates competency for the Operations Leader role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN Leadership Standards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree preferred. 5 -8 years prior field related and other job-related experience. Excellent organization and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and decision making, team training skills/experience, leadership training/experience, customer service/process implementation. Must have flexibility in work schedule.
