Job Summary: The Patient Access Team Leader guides the activities of a multi-disciplinary team that has the collective responsibility of resolving all nonclinical activities/issues with qualifying FHN patients prior to and/or during their presentation for care. These activities may include; Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, Order Management, Benefit Calculation and Coordination, Demographic Critical Data Element Capture, Risk Scoring, Financial Resource Coordination and Payment arrangements.
Although some of these functions are consolidated, the Patient Access Team Leader will provide guidance and expertise to the following positions; Central Scheduler, Pre Processing Representative, Financial Counselor, Pre-Certification Nurse and Customer Service Representative.
The Patient Access Team Leader reports to the Director of Patient Access.
Education/Experience: Associate Degree with 5-8 years field-related and other job-related experience would be needed or especially helpful to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Superior written and oral communication skills. Previous experience in the healthcare business related field. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong customer service advocacy skills. Ability to speak in front of groups of people (i.e. staff training sessions).
