Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a fulltime Warehouse Lead. The Warehouse Leadprovide supervisory support for designated functions of the warehouse operation; demonstrates excellence in customer service for Goodwill retail operations, corporate partners and vendors.

 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Provides responsive and respectful service to retail operations. Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in customer service by effectively communicating with managers.
Provides responsive, professional and respectful service to truck drivers. Loads and unloads trucks as needed.  Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in customer service by effectively communicating with truck drivers.
Manages technology recycling program through Dell or other selected technology recycling programs.
Provides oversight of incoming goods through the Attended Donation Center, donation drives, and Corporate Donations Program.  Sorts goods to distribute to retail operations.
Opens and closes the warehouse as needed per work schedule and business needs.
Responsive and respectful towards others within the organization. Promotes internal and external customer service through effective communication. Displays appropriate behavior (courteous, professional and respectful interactions) with fellow employees.
Consistently follows established safety rules. Reports safety accidents and hazards when known and in a timely manner. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse. Utilizes the proper equipment and supplies in meeting the safety standards.
Demonstrates regard for Goodwill’s assets including property, and equipment.
Demonstrates effective communication skills through use of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

A high school degree (or its equivalent) is desirable, though an equivalent amount of training and experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement.
Must be 18 years old.
Three-five years of pervious supervisory experience preferred.
Three – five years experience in a warehouse or related environment.
Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers (internal and external).
Ability to count, add, and subtract.
Ability to work in a highly unstructured environment with exceptional organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to changing patterns of donations and inventory levels.
Demonstrated self-initiative and problem-solving skills.  Attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to follow all safety rules.
Ability to learn to operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification.
Functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
