The Clean Energy Training and Support Specialist will work with program participants as they enroll into workforce development programs in clean energy technology. The Specialist will not only work with participants but will also mentor and coach partner agencies in training and support case management. They will facilitate access to services, which includes case management, individual planning, support, connection to training, and access to services on an on-going basis.  The Specialist works with program participants and partners to support participants and ensure success with educational outcomes and provide follow up, documentation, and reporting.


Responsibilities & Essential Functions:


Participant Management

·    Work with participants utilizing a strengths-based approach to provide case management and planning activities in the clean energy sector.

·    Counsel, encourage and motivate participants for successful outcomes.

·    Utilize and discuss assessment results with participants to collaboratively determine the support and services needed for success.

·    Conduct ongoing career counseling activities to establish appropriate individual education and employability for participants.


Community Partnerships

·    Connect participants with training providers and facilitate enrollment and successful training services.

·    Work with partner agency staff to coach and mentor in providing training and support services.

·    Keep informed of local workforce and training development needs and opportunities.

·    Maintain confidentiality and protect participants’ Personal Identifying Information (PII) as required by law.

·    Find innovative solutions to participant and partner challenges and exhibit patience and compassion in dealing with issues.

·    Show flexibility in working with people from diverse social, economic and educational backgrounds.



·    Monitor and document participants’ participation and progress toward employment and education goals.

·    Maintain participant files in compliance with program requirements and guidelines.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

·        High school diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or related field preferred.

·        2-4 years of workforce development experience or human service experience.

·        Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with barriers to employment and understand and communicate with diverse groups.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail

·        Functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
