Admitting Receptionist, Patient Registration, Janesville, 40 hrs / 2 wks
Location: Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center
Schedule: Varies between 5:00am – 2:00pm
Holiday and Weekend Rotation Required

Essential duties and Responsibilities

Greets public, patients and families when entering the lobby.
Ensures that each person entering the lobby will be immediately greeted and directed to registration or other areas as needed.
Assures there is always someone in the lobby to be available to patients and families.
Answers telephone, gives correct information and relays messages.
Provides assistance to patients as to what information or services may be available to them.
Provides clerical assistance to registration staff related to entering insurance information or other demographic information as designated by their department.
Completes patient logs as appropriate.
Maintains confidentiality by observing Mercyhealth and other State and Federal compliance requirements.
Must be able to push patient in wheelchair.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Physical Demands
The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Function of the position with or without accommodations.
Medium work exerting 10 to 25 lbs of force frequently and 25 to 60 lbs of force occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, handle, finger, feel, reach, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision and ability to adjust focus and occasional distance vision. Prolonged sitting. Manual dexterity needed to operate telephone and keyboard. Must be able to push patient in wheelchair.
