The Rehab Clinic Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective workflow that adheres to OI policy while promoting continued growth and positive financial impacts. Maintaining and encouraging staff to promote the highest quality for care for patients, collaborating with staff to ensure positive and effective outcomes for our patients. Supporting and promoting professional staff development and growth through regular communication and goal setting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Directs and communicates effectively with rehabilitation staff to achieve positive patient outcomes
• Enhances professional growth of staff through regular communication and guidance, goal setting and support, and continuing education opportunities
• Fosters therapist collaboration and teamwork to promote and support the OrthoIllinois Service Standards
• Provide feedback to staff regarding patient satisfaction through interpretation of Press Ganey survey responses and comments
• Assesses clinician/staff member contribution annually and promotes opportunity for clinician
growth and development as a provider and encourages continued growth or adaptation if improvement is warranted
• Coordinates with the front desk to navigate busy schedules in order to continue to offer
patient coverage and flexibility with patients. Assists occasionally with clinician coverage in situations of unplanned PTO
• Reviews and approves PTO; coordinates coverage if PTO is approved and leaves the clinic short staffed.
• Reviews and approves time cards on a biweekly basis
• Addresses patient complaints in regards to a bill, clinician treatment, or staff engagement. Properly and professionally educate patients; finds mutual terms to rectify difficult employee situations/concerns
• Mediates staff conflicts; ensures a peaceful and professional work environment is maintained and negotiates compromise when needed
• Performs billing reviews, including auditing charts to help promote clinicians’ productivity. Provides clinicians with various strategies and ideas in order to improve their productivity numbers
• Provides direct patient care to include patient evaluation or treatment
• Makes patient care decisions under the Physical Therapy scope of practice
• Develops and implements a plan of care considering the patient’s history, context, and goals
• Effectively documents daily treatments, evaluations, and completion of progress notes to support each patient’s individualized plan of care
• Maintains patient confidentiality; keeps the work environment safe and clean and adheres to safety policies
• Enhances personal professional growth and development through participation in continuing education opportunities
• Manages DME supply inventory ensuring adherence to inventory process maintaining adequate supply levels
• Provides input into the processes that occur in the Rehabilitation department to maximize department efficiency, facilitate growth and patient experience

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy; or Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy; or Associates Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant required. Commensurate years of experience and/or education may also be considered.
• Illinois PT/PTA or OT/COTA license required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites
• Familiarity with EMR and Physical Rehabilitation software
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Working environment is in an office/clinic setting.
Physical/Mental Demands:
• Stand for long periods of time, walk for periods of time, kneel, crawl, stoop, and climb stairs.
• Requires lifting, carrying, or moving heavier objects i.e., pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Possess full range of motion in shoulders and arms, including reaching above or below the shoulder.
• Finger dexterity, the ability to twist hands/wrists repetitively, pushing/pulling against stiff joints, using a variety of holds; demonstrating exercises, lifting/raising over shoulder height.
• Demonstrate exercises, perform manual therapy (i.e. soft tissue mobilization, dry needling), connecting E-stim electrodes; balance for patient guarding and demonstration.
• Vision (e.g., depth perception, color vision, strong vision up close). Rehabilitation staff must be
able to watch/observe all patient exercise/movement in order to be able to prevent improper performance and maintain safety. Good vision will also assist in recognizing patients’ non-verbal pain responses.
• Hearing (e.g., high pitch sounds, soft or distant sounds). Rehabilitation staff must be able to hear patients’ potential verbalization of pain in response to care/treatment within (at times) a loud clinic.
• Operates the following: Modalities (e-stim, NMES, whirlpool), sharps (scalpels, tweezers, scissors).
