Full Job Description

The Machine Operator supports the Supervisor and assists in the management of the activities of the Refrigerant Production Department. That department is responsible for the efficient production of quality refrigerant packs. The Machine Operator monitors production and works with equipment and department employees to ensure the accurate and timely execution of all activities of the department. A candidate for this position must be detail oriented, safety conscious, able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work well in a fast paced, high growth environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support Refrigerant Production Supervisor in daily work activities.
2. Schedule and supervise all production as directed by the Production Coordinator.
3. Prepare daily gel batches in mixing tanks, setup production lines with poly rolls, print films, corrugated boxes and startup all machinery in accordance with Company procedures.
4. Verify gel packs meet quality standards. Verify gel pack weight and size using a scale and ruler. Refer to product specifications for gel type, size, color, print plate, packaging type and quantity.
5. Maintain production levels of material as necessary.
6. On all production lines, monitor and perform quality assurance procedures for finished goods.
7. Ensure that all completed products are placed on skid and barcode labeled.
8. Scan and input quantity for completed product.
9. Complete and return corresponding paperwork to Production Coordinator.
10. Maintain clean and orderly production areas.
11. Continually monitor and, where necessary, improve the flow and efficiency of production.
12. Train personnel to keep them current on procedures and work instructions.

Skills and Competencies:
1. Must be able to follow written, oral instructions and be able to retain and carry out multiple work assignments
2. Must be proficient in basic math skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplication and division
3. Must be knowledgeable in all phases of production including assembly, packaging and wrapping
4. Must be able to operate industrial equipment safely such as a Bandrite sealer, Matrix Packaging machinery, and All-Fill filling pumps
5. Must be able to stand or sit for entire shift and repeatedly push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
6. Must have experience using scan gun technology
7. Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational and people skills
8. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

Minimum Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 1 or more years of experience in production within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
