Collaborative Planning for Northern Illinois

Ideal Candidate: A mathematically proficient individual with a strong interest and/or background in public finance and administration. Requires strong attention to detail with excellent computative, analytic, and problem-solving skills. Experience in accounting, audit, finance, or procurement preferred. Pay commensurate with experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications

· Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, administration, economics, finance, or closely related field.

· Two or more years of relative work experience preferred.

· We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not currently able to sponsor visas.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for job summary. This is a full-time, exempt position, working on-site in our downtown Rockford, Illinois office.

Initial focuswill be on supporting accounting functions and financial aspects of grant management.

Other illustrative examples of work to be performed include:

· Works collaboratively with grant-funded project managers to meet financial reporting requirements.

· Assists in the development of and compliance with grant budgets.

· Reviews and records financial transactions for accuracy and compliance within budgetary parameters according to grant agreements and federal, state, and regulations.

· Complies and prepares financial reports as required by funding sources.

· Prepares and reconciles grant transaction ledgers, and substantiates transactions with supporting documentation for all entries.

· Coordinates alignment between grant requirements and agency accounting framework.

· Assists with accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, fund and account reconciliations, record keeping, month-end, year-end, and audit.

· Maintains financial security by researching and reconciling discrepancies, auditing and verifying documents, and following internal controls.

Critical knowledge and fundamental skills required for the position, include:

· Uncompromising accuracy, attention to detail, and interest in continuous improvement

· intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills

· Knowledge of accounting procedures and standards

· Ethical conduct and confidentiality

· Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

· Initiative to solve problems, develop plans, and follow-through
