Provide a fully integrated and accessible workforce development system that balances the needs of individuals and businesses to ensure our region has a skilled workforce to effectively compete in the global economy.
About the Board
The Workforce Connection (TWC) Board is one of 22 local workforce boards established by the Governor of the State of Illinois pursuant to the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Utilizing Federal and State funds, TWC provides a system for individuals to get employed and also works with employers to find skilled workers and access other services, including education and training for their current workforce in Boone, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties. The board staff is a leadership team that oversees the workforce system.
The Workforce Connection’s full Board of Directors generally meets on the first Tuesday of March, June, September & December at 8:00 a.m. Meeting notices, agendas and minutes are posted as they become available.
Please note: Pursuant the Governor’s Executive Order to Shelter-in-Place, all meetings will be taking place virtually until further notice in compliance with OMA requirements.
The Performance & Accountability Committee meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, April 21 at 8:00 a.m.
