The Workforce Connection was proud to have Sarene Alsharif as our guest speaker at our March 19, 2024 Board and Chief Elected Officials meeting. As the co-founder and CEO of Tad More Tailoring and the new Tad More Sustainability Institute, Sarene is creating jobs and saving the planet, one garment at a time.
Sarene spoke about sustainability in the garment industry, teaching us about the amount of natural resources it takes to produce jeans and the environmental impact the jean industry has on the earth. We learned how each of us can make a difference by changing our clothing shopping habits and the way we care for our clothing.
Sarene also talked about her business, her vision for the future, and her work creating a registered Apprenticeship for industrial sewing in collaboration with our Apprenticeship Navigator, Berenice Jaquez.
