Meet Alex, who is a Senior at Harlem High School who will graduate in June 2024. Alex enrolled in The Workforce Connection’s Elevate Program through Harlem High School and had the opportunity to do a paid internship in a field of interest. Alex recently completed his paid Internship Work Experience at Ring Container Technologies, Inc.
Alex is very interested in pursuing his career in engineering and/or the manufacturing industry. While at Ring, Alex had the opportunity to get hands-on experience and learn what it takes to become a Downstream Equipment Operator. Ring Container produces various plastic containers for companies like Walmart, Fisher Nuts and Chick-fil-A.
Alex did such a great job at Ring Container that they offered him a permanent position. Alex states although he is going to school out of town, he will continue to work at Ring part-time when he comes home from school.
Alex states he had a very positive experience with the Elevate Program and would not have received the type of hands-on training he needed before going to college without this opportunity.
